Arsenal: The come back!

No one can doubt that arsenal’s start to the season was woeful to say the least. The thrashing at Manchester United was embarrassing to watch. Nasri and Fabregas must have been laughing on the other side of their faces no matter how much they say they still love the club.

Wayne Rooney scores a penalty

The win against QPR was down to a fluke goal by Arshavin who we all know only shows up once every half season. The losses to Blackburn and spuds summed it up. Being an Arsenal fan was a hard and stressful experience. However things changed players settled, Gervinho began to gel with Van Persie, Arteta was learning how to play alongside Song and Ramsey, Andre Santos brought a bit of Brazilian flair to left back and Per well he still has work to do but with Koscielny finally showing glimpses of his potential he cant afford to rest on his laurels regardless of how many international caps he has.
The wins have been coming mainly thanks to the goal scoring efforts of Van Persie. One man team? I doubt it although he has the ability to run from the defence and score a wonder goal he doesn’t. The other players contribute to the cause which he himself has admitted. The Champions league is something which has also surprised me The Marseille win albeit late but a win nonetheless and the Dortmund win. Dortmund were a team that worried me they’ve got the number one player on our wish list in the young wonderkid Mario Gotze and with players like Kagawa and Lucas Barrios testing our resolve I thought they could put a dent in our progression hopes. So here we stand but who would have thought we’d be the first English team to go through to the last 16? How many of you put money on that? Arsenal are doing well and to be honest we’re doing a lot better than a lot of people expected so yes I will call it a comeback because when everyone said we sold the only 2 world class players we had I don’t think anyone would have thought we’d go through to the last 16 in the champions league let alone be the first English team to do it.
Van Persie heads in after some great play by Alex Song
